DataBase of genes trascriptionally modulated by ionizing radiation in mammalian cells

The Radiation Genes Database collects microarrays data on transcriptional effects of ionozing radiation obtained from public repositories or from published papers.

Data are provided to the public via a website that contains a user-friendly search interface and several tools and web services which should facilitate comparison and meta-clustering analysis.

This database should allow researchers working on transcriptional response of mammalian cells to radiation to ask important questions for radiobiologists:

  • Which genes show a general transcriptional response to irradiation in different biological systems in vitro and in vivo?
  • Which genes show a general response to a wide range of doses and to different quality of irradiation (i.e. low or high Linear Energy Transfer) ?
  • Which genes show an early and transient response and which show instead a long range modulation?
